About this ebook

The Veritas Project team has a new assignment: To find the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of two runaways. When one runaway turns up totally out of his mind and a government agent steps in to take over the case, the Springfield's continue their own investigation. The twins-Elijah and Elisha-go undercover, posing as runaways. What happens next will keep readers on the edge of their seats as the twins end up in a strange academy where Truth is continually challenged, a gang-like war develops, and Elijah is taken to an ominous mansion from which no one has ever returned. A great thriller with a realistic look at right and wrong.

Peretti never fails to capture my attention in his books. In a place where there is no rules, Elisha and Elijah are definitely pushed to their limits. "Where there is no knowledge, there is no truth."The government has an undercover project to test learning environments and how the children learn and respond. They attempt to brainwash kids into believing whatever they say. They have a new program every year and to make sure no one finds out, they abolish the 'camp' sites after the summer. In the recent program they get homeless 'volunteers'. In these camps the teachers are strict, the kids loose the sense of right and wrong, and it is up to the undercover agents to figure out why.I got a tad confused at times, but in the end everything fits together. I loved how the kids at the camp learned to start their own 'government', it really shows that, without rules, everyone runs a muck.

A suspense/thriller that was fun and quick to read. What would the world be like if there was no truth and all things were relative. That is the premise of htis story. I previewed it for our church library and found it good.

After reading Hangman's Curse, I had to get this one to follow the family into another mystery. I didn't like this one quite as much. The story was not as suspenseful, but it was still well written and interesting. I wonder if the series ended after only two books because this was not as well received.

A great book, and an interesting way to introduce teens and young adults to Christian literature.
