    ONE DAY, MR. Bambert, a sweet but shy man, decides to send 11 stories out into the world. He attaches them to little hot-air balloons and lets them go on windy nights with a letter asking that whoever finds them send them back. Wherever the stories are returned from is where they will be set. The 11th story is blank—Bambert hopes it will write itself. Slowly the stories come back, with postmarks from all over the world, including one from the past. All that’s left is the last one, the one that has to write itself. . . .

      a nice story, which goes around of the world

      Written by a German author of children's books, this is the story of a little old man, a reclue, who write stories about people. He sends these stories off in a hot-air balloon in the hopes that they will travel full circle, be discovered, and come back to him. Wherever the stories land is where he will choose the setting for them. The stories return to him from postmarks around the world, giving him, what seem, to be the perfect settings. Good for 4th-5th grade. Not fast paced.
