About this ebook

War has come.

Nya’s the one who brought it. And the people love her for it.

With Baseer in shambles and Geveg now an impenetrable military stronghold, Nya and the Underground have fled to a safer location—without Tali. Nya is guilt-ridden over leaving her sister behind and vows to find her, but with the rebellion in full swing and refugees flooding the Three Territories, she fears she never will.

The Duke, desperate to reclaim the throne as his own, has rallied his powerful army. And they are on the move, destroying anyone who gets in the way.

To save her sister, her family, and her people, Nya needs to stay ahead of the Duke’s army and find a way to build one of her own. Past hurts must be healed, past wrongs must be righted, and Nya must decide: Is she merely a pawn in the rebellion, a symbol of hope—or is she ready to be a hero?

Janice Hardy

A longtime fantasy reader, Janice Hardy has always wondered about the darker side of healing. She tapped into her own dark side to create a world where healing could be dangerous, and those with the best intentions often made the worst choices. She lives in Georgia with her husband, four cats, and one nervous freshwater eel.

Go Nya! I thought this was a good book. A story of triumph.

This book is the most refined of the series. I was satisfied with the ending and enjoyed the twists and turns as well as the element of unknown magic. I would have liked to have seen more growth from Nya toward the end, I felt like the growth indicated was more of an afterthought. But the story and the movement and characters was very good. I appreciated the unique world the author had created in this series.

This concludes the story of the healer wars and this time Nya has to make some very hard decisions, including what happens when she finds her sister. It's a war and people Nya cares for die but she keeps fighting as best she can.I enjoyed this series and would read more by Janice Hardy, this one both occasionally lagged and occasionally things happened without me seeing enough of it happen. All the threads of the story are wrapped up by the end and there's a satisfying conclusion by the end. It just didn't really fire me with a lot of enthuaism.
