About this ebook
Rod Rees’s riveting dystopian saga continues with The Shadow Wars, the spellbinding sequel to The Demi-Monde: Winter.
First Daughter Norma Williams finds herself stranded in the sinister cyber-world of the not-so-distant future that’s inhabited by some of history’s most menacing villains. Betrayed by those she thought were friends, she must lead the resistance against a terrifying force if she wants to survive.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5At first, I was hesitant to read this book since it was the second in the series and my local library did not have the first one, but decided to start reading it to see if I really did need to read the first one. My surprise was this book started out with a great summary of the set up to where this book starts there was no need to read the first book. I LOVED the premises of this book. It was action packed along with some good thrills. It is not in my normal genre of books to read so I would not have given it a second thought any other time but I was captivated by this story. I caught myself reading this way into the middle of the night trying to find out what is going to happen next. A good pick if this is not your normal genre. Definitely going to look for more books from this author!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book was all right. But I did not like it as well as some of the sci-fi fiction I have read. Still the tone the author uses to relate the story was good.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5While this is novel that I would not normally pick up, I must say that I was surprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did. It takes a bit of time to get rolling, especially if you have not read the first installment in the assumed trilogy, but the sharp writing, strong characters, and smart action make it all worth the read. I am looking forward to seeing where this story ends in book 3!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I was lucky enough to receive a copy of the second book in a series of 4 books by Rod Rees on the site librarything. I loved how the author didn't leave any suspense in the beginning and just took off right where we were at the end of the first book. The story of Norma Williams and her exciting journey, struggles, and triumph were well described in book 2! I loved this read was very excited to get right into it and it held my attention the entire time. 5 stars from me and can't wait for the next in this captivating series!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I was excited that I won this book, having read an ARC that a friend gave me of the first book, The Demi-Monde: Winter. I gave the first one 4 stars and this one didn't let me down either. This book was non-stop from beginning to end, never a dull moment to be found and I was instantly sucked in from the first page. I'm looking forward to the third book in the series!
