She received her Masters in Theological Studies (M.T.S.) from Harvard Divinity School and her PhD from Emory University. She also spent several years teaching at Hobart and William Smith Colleges and Tufts University. In addition to her scholarship, she has centered her commitment to the embodied materiality of Africana traditions around supporting her clients, especially BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ birthing people, through the initiatory process of pregnancy, labor, and parenthood.view less
