His research interests include drumming, punk pedagogies and eudaimonia in music making. His most recent book is A Philosophy of Playing Drum Kit: Magical Nexus (Cambridge University Press, 2002), and his forthcoming duets album, Permission Granted, is a collection of conversations from the drums.
