This early aptitude led to a passion for books and a burning desire to write one herself. This is Val's first book but it's 'bones' have been lying around on various bits of paper for a long time. It is the account of her life which spans across three continents and one island as an airways ground hostess, governess, station domestic, manager's wife and bull catcher's sidekick. Val is the mother of three children, 'Ouma' to eight grandchildren and is committed to her Christian faith, following 'The Man' she came to know in the Kimberley forty-eight years ago.Graeme WicksBorn in 1951 into a family of seven children at Kingaroy in Queensland, Graeme was an energetic boy with little time for formal education. He left school after completing Grade 10 and headed to the Kimberley to make his own mark on the world. Quickly promoted up the ranks, he eventually managed Mistake Creek and Spring Creek stations before taking on a bull-catching contract for the West Australian government. He has chaired a number of beef industry groups and judged stud and led steer competitions around Queensland, including the Brisbane Exhibition. A committed Christian, he is always ready to lend a hand wherever one is needed.view less
