In his spare time, Jon works as an artist and cartoonist. He was 2018 EMSWCD employee of the year and has received special recognition from the Oregon Department of Agriculture for his conservation illustration projects. His illustrations can be seen on signs at the Oregon Zoo, Olympic National Park and the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, among other parks and natural areas. He has a Master's Certificate in Science Illustration from the University of California Santa Cruz.view less
