After serving in the US Army Air Force during World War II, Hoffenberg studied at the New School and the Sorbonne on the GI Bill. He eventually settled in Paris, where he wrote “dirty books” for the groundbreaking avant-garde publisher Olympia Press and helped edit the Olympia Review.view less
