After serving in the US Army Air Force ...view moreMason Hoffenberg (1922–1986) was an American writer best known as the coauthor, with Terry Southern, of the cult classic novel Candy (1958). After serving in the US Army Air Force during World War II, Hoffenberg studied at the New School and the Sorbonne on the GI Bill. He eventually settled in Paris, where he wrote “dirty books” for the groundbreaking avant-garde publisher Olympia Press and helped edit the Olympia Review.view less
