Carmen Ruelas VonTickner is a retired teacher from the California School for the Deaf and lives in the San Francisco Bay area .She is a graduate of San Jose State College where she earned her BS in Business Administration and her MA in Vocational Administration
She enjoys writing poetry and short stories. Her poetry has appeared in Eber & Wein Publishers, Tablerock Poets, The Anthology of Poetry Diversified, The Greensilk Journal, and The Kistrech Poetry Festival Anthology. She co-authored En Mi Viejo San Juan, a memoir of stories written by her older sister, Josephine.
In her free time, she enjoys painting, reading and of course eating, somethings never change.

Connie Ruelas Cooper lives with her husband Barry, east of Sacramento. She has two grown children and two grandchildren.
Connie worked as a teacher’s assistant at the local elementary school for several years. She is a member of the Moose Club, the Elks Club, and has held membership in the United States Bowling Congress, representing California in the National Bowling Championship in Oklahoma City. Connie enjoys doing volunteer work at the local museum, gardening, and watching old movies.view less
