Her children are her biggest inspiration. Her first book, titled "Ada's Wash Day" is based on real life experiences and conversations with Adalia about her hair, her identity, and her place in the world. Growing up in their quaint suburb in the Netherlands, there weren't many little girls who look like Adalia. Adalia always felt different and at times, was made to feel different!
