She recognizes that there are many opportunities for the young learner to increase their vocabulary, foster pre-writing skills, and enhance critical thinking skills. She was afforded opportunities to teach in the field of early childhood education, and at the University level as a professor at Norfolk State University (NSU) in the School of Education. She was also able to share some of her teaching strategies with undergrad and graduate students looking to serve in K-5 classrooms. Currently, she is the widow of a 100% Disabled Navy Veteran and resides in Chesapeake, VA. She is mom, granny and great-granny…Gg. As a writer and published author, she has a flair for children’s literature. Her first children’s book entitled, That’s The Second Time That This Has Happened to Me, but it was only 57cents was published August 2012.
