I have always wanted to express myself through children’s books because I connect to the thought processes of a three-year-old. They are not too serious. They are not afraid to be silly. They find joy in the act of creating something that is their own. When my sons were young, I wrote some stories for them, but over the years, these stories were lost. When my grandchildren were born, I not only desired to write again but to save the stories. I live in Indiana and work in the nursing field. Many of my patients have trouble with their memory and with finding their words. I have found that just like the three-year-old, these people enjoy a story. One that is not too long, not too complicated. A story that is simple and fun. A story to make them smile. I think that is my qualification to write a book. I am a storyteller. I have come to believe that a lot of good can come from the telling of a story. I hope to tell many stories, but more than that, I hope to encourage other people to tell a story. Tell a story to a young person. Tell a story to an old person. Tell a story to someone, because as my grandchildren would say, “You will spread joy and laughter throughout the kingdom!”view less
