Brian Lempriere was born and raised by British parents in the 1930s in Mauritius, in the Indian Ocean, and was educated in Jersey, in the English Channel in the 1940s. Both these places are unique ...view moreBrian Lempriere was born and raised by British parents in the 1930s in Mauritius, in the Indian Ocean, and was educated in Jersey, in the English Channel in the 1940s. Both these places are unique and exotic in their flora and fauna, and in their physical and cultural characters. He became an aeronautical engineer through a London BSc at the Royal Aircraft Establishment, Farnborough, England, then an MAe degree at The Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, NY, USA, and lastly a PhD degree at Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA, USA. He was a Lecturer at the College of Aeronautics, Cranfield, England, and spent 7 years at the Lockheed Research Laboratories in Palo Alto, CA, and 26 years at Boeing Aerospace Co. in Seattle, WA. He has written many technical papers and a book on Ultrasound and Eastic Waves. He married Shirley Cawood of Brooklyn, New York and they now live in the NorthWest USA.
