He is author of the book, God Is Grace: Lessons to a Father from a Son. He is currently employed in South Carolina state government and is pastor at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Camden, S.C. He is married to Tanya Bolton. Their two sons are Alexander, 12, and Christopher, 9. Alexander loves football and basketball and is a seventh-grader at Dutch Fork Middle School.
