She has photo-identified bottle...view moreTiffany Humphrey earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Coastal Carolina University and has since dedicated her life to protecting marine fauna. She has photo-identified bottlenose dolphins in and around the estuaries of South Carolina as well as orca whales off the coast of Washington State. While living on San Juan Island, she worked for Captain Paul Watson at Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and continues to collaborate with him on marine projects. Working for NOAA and the South Carolina Marine Mammal Stranding Network, she performed necropsies on dolphins and whales along the state’s coastline. She wrote conservation logs, newsletters, and necropsy reports before publishing her first nonfiction book on the plight of orca whales in captivity. She spends her days running, snorkeling, cooking vegan food for her family, tending to her animals, and writing fiction novels.view less
