Having family in both Norway and the United States, Savage spent most of his upbringing travelling between both countries, enabling him to have a multicultural perspective which he often references in his work. He moved to the United Kingdom in 2018 to complete his legal degree at the University of Essex, and it was during this time Savage wrote his debut novel and till date his only published work 'Love Hates Us All'. Looking at his work, his writing is influenced by the social, cultural, and racial ambiance of his generation raised in the aughts and twenty-tens. His work addresses the unbeknownst problems of being 'twenty-something' and the challenges it comes with such as the transition from being a teen to an adult, the complexities of love, childhood trauma, mental health, and the conflicting life of being a rebel without a cause. Savage also performs live readings of his poetry, having had notable readings for the Norwegian Art Association, Colchester Art Council, and on BBC Radio on multiple occasions.view less
