The question that motivated the founding of this company was “How does one change careers?” After over twenty years in software development for several companies, including Hewlett-Packard along with two Seattle start-ups, Isilon Systems and Appliant, David enrolled in the Executive MBA program at the University of Washington. Members of this program came from a variety of backgrounds and were pursuing a variety of careers. The possibility of a career change for David was real, but the question of how to make the change remained. David and Terry decided to investigate career changes by talking to others who had moved from one successful career to another. This resulted in the book Changing Careers After 40: Real Stories, New Callings. In addition to the MBA from the University of Washington, David holds a masters degree in Mathematics from the Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and a masters degree in Computer Science from The State University of New York at Stony Brook.view less
