In 1994-1998 he served as Executive Director of the Quebec Region of the Canadian Jewish Congress. He holds a doctoral degree in Quebec history from Concordia University and has lectured at McGill University and the University of Quebec in Montreal. He is founding editor of the magazines Canadian Issues and Canadian Diversity and publishes essays in books, journals, and newspapers across the country. He has recently co-authored a new introduction for the 50th anniversary edition of John Porter’s Canadian sociological classic, The Vertical Mosaic (University of Toronto Press).view less
