She received a BS degree in Elementary Education and minor in music ...view moreDebbie Sheffield-Barnett is a veteran teacher (retired, 1981-2014) from the Oklahoma City Public School System. She received a BS degree in Elementary Education and minor in music (piano) from the University of Central Oklahoma, in Edmond Oklahoma. Debbie is an accomplished singer, musician, and now a new author of her first children's book The Box. During her years in the classroom, Debbie used her childhood experiences to teach various character expectations and traits to those students who may have gone through hurt, anger, loneliness, sorrow and other struggles and how to overcome them. She decided to put these experiences that she used as oral lessons in the classroom into written stories for all to read and enjoy. Debbie is a member of the Ebenezer Missionary Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and serves and dedicates her musical and teaching abilities to the work of the church ministry. Debbie lives in Del City, Oklahoma with her husband Charles. She has 5 children and 10 grandchildren.view less
