His nearly 500 publications have provided an insights ...view moreTony Farrell is Professor at the University of British Columbia, holds a Canada Research Chair and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. His nearly 500 publications have provided an insights into fish cardiorespiratory systems, applying this knowledge to salmon migratory passage, fish handling, sustainable aquaculture and aquatic toxicology. He has co-edited 30 volumes of the Fish Physiology series and was Editor-in-Chief for the 1st edition of the award-winning Encyclopedia of Fish Physiology. He is a former President of the Society of Experimental Biologists and a former Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Fish Biology. His multiple awards include the Fry Medal, the Beverton Medal, the Medal of Excellence, and the Murray A. Newman Award both for Research and for Conservation from the Vancouver Marine Sciences Centre.view less
