Dr. Holland has more than 30 years teaching experience in higher education and teaches courses in Therapeutic Recreation and Recreation Management at UW L. While at UW-L, Holland has served the institution in many capacities including Chair of the Department of Recreation Management and Therapeutic Recreation, Graduate Program Director, President of the Multicultural Faculty and Staff Organization, Assistant Football coach, and has served on numerous university committees and assignments.Before UW-L, Dr Holland was Director of Therapeutic Recreation at Wyalusing Academy where he developed and implemented a comprehensive therapeutic recreation program to meet the needs of emotionally disturbed and physical disabled adolescents. He was also Child Care Unit Coordinator at St. Michael’s Home for Children.Dr. Holland’s research interests include therapeutic recreation, recreation for underrepresented groups, community recreation, and higher education. Dr. Holland has made numerous presentations on underrepresented groups in therapeutic recreation, recreation, and higher education at the local, state, and national level. He is also the author of Black Recreation: A Historical Perspective and co-author of two urban novels Twisted and Nadine’s Revenge.Jearold and his wife Theresa live in La Crosse, Wisconsin. They have three children, Bradley, Mackenzie, and Lukas.view less
