How could I let her go to her first day of school and riding the big bus with her thumb in her mouth? She sucked it so hard that the skin was raw. I tried putting pepper on it, and I tried taping it to her hand, (which would be child abuse in this day). I even put hot sauce on her thumb. . Nothing worked. At my wits end, I told her a story ....
I've always liked to make up stories and fantasies. I am a 54 year old woman, and I had to get my daughters permission to publish this online.( She's now 34), It's her story, and she says she would love to share it with your kids. It worked well with her and both of her kids. When they spend the night, I can hear my grandchildren yell "Thumbkin Land, Thumbkin Land!!!!
