She was born in the far east where her father had been serving with the diplomatic services. She returned to spend her childhood on the family estates in Buckinghamshire and Stirlingshire. Educationally she received a grounding at a number of locations in the Home Counties before attending St Andrews University in the “Noughties” where she took a particular interest in Anatomy and took every opportunity to mix with illustrious company.
Joy is a believer in family tradition and even now endeavours to live her life to the standards suggested by her family name.view less
