No Turning Back is a multi-layered crime mystery that packs a punch and has you wanting to keep turning the pages. The book starts out with Anna Graves, a new single mom who has recently gone back to work. She has taken her daughter to the beach and she is attacked by a young man with a knife. She defends herself and her baby and the attacker dies from the confrontation. This story becomes very complicated and multi-layered from this point. There are 3 generations of Anna's family that are involved in the story. They all have deep, dark secrets that eventually come to light. This is a great mystery which keeps you reading! I would highly recommend this book. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

This book is crazy with plot twists. First of all, Anna thinks a group of teenagers on the beach is after her and her baby as they start towards them and she runs from them only to find out they just want to return something she has dropped. Then next another teenager comes towards her and her baby mumbling something while swing a knife at her. He accidentally stumbles into her comb neck first and dies gaining her newsworthy attention as to whether she is either a murderess or a victim. Then the parents of the boy are out to get her. The next thing you know the brother of the boy is trying to help her figure out what happened and why the boy seemed incoherent and why he was poisoned.
Next, it seems a serial killer who poisoned his victims over 20 years ago, but suddenly stopped seems to have started again is up to his tricks again and is after young teenage boys again. And all the victims seem to have something in common with Anna.
And the ending will absolutely blow your mind.
This is definitely one that I whipped through. I could not read the pages fast enough. These boys were dying left and right. I could not fathom that Anna would become friends with the brother of the boy that she killed. I was screaming at her and asking her if she was stupid or what. And her brother, I just so wanted to slap him. And her mother, I did not know what was up with her. She was buried so deep down inside of herself, she was definitely hiding something. I had to know what was going on with these characters. I could not find out fast enough.
I want to shout out a huge thanks to Crooked Lane Books and Net Galley for the privilege and of their providing me with a free e-galley in order that I might read and give an honest and unbiased review. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

I had to almost turn the last page to get answers to this one, and then I was still surprised, oh my I never saw it coming.
A young mother, a broadcaster, a recent divorcee, a daughter, a sister, yes this is Anna Graves. As the story opens you feel like she has it all, a beautiful little one, and a fabulous job, but soon her world comes crashing down around her.
What is going on, and who is responsible, and now Anna is drawn right in, and it is almost like coming full circle as the cast of characters are presented. You are going to be guessing right to the end, and even then shaking your head.
Don’t quite know how I feel about the ending of this story, the author had us chasing after clues, but some times things are not what you think they are.
If you like suspense, and being frightened for the main character, than this is a read you don’t want to miss.
I received this book through Net Galley, and the Publisher Crooked Lane Books, and was not required to give a positive review. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5

This is not a book you want to read late at night when you hear noises outside and your mind is telling you to run. The opening is terrifying, intense and starts the book in a spiral of terror that doesn't stop till the end. I was mesmerized from the start and found the book to be chilling and well written.
Anna is a good character with a lot going on. She has just come back to work after having a child. I loved her job as a radio personality . The setting of the story is in the U.K.which I found very fascinating. What happens to Anna one day while out for a stroll with her child ? What would you do to protect your child? I do have to say that the weapon Anna used to protect herself was quite unusual. I have to wonder if it really could do the damage the author described. With the adrenaline flowing through Anna in a survival mode, perhaps anything she used could become lethal. I was a bit confused at times when the story would go back and forth while introducing The Ophelia Killer. Later this will play a part that will turn the story upside down. It took awhile to connect the dots between The Ophelia Killer and its importance to the story. I will say it is worth the wait as the author strategically gives reads a thrill ride of mind games.
The town soon turns against Anna when the story breaks of the violent crime that Anna was involved in. I wasn't surprised at how most of her friends turned their back on her. It is true that you know who your real friends are when things get bad. Can you trust your friends to have your back when you are accused of a crime? The mind games in this story is outstanding. I was quite surprised at the ending and the build up was captivating. This is one story that is a psychological thriller with twists that jump off the page. Overall it is a great read with some profanity throughout the book.
I received a copy of this book from The Great Escape Book Tour. The review is my own opinion. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

Anna is taking her young daughter for a stroll when she is attacked by a school boy. In defending her daughter and herself, she stabs and kills him. If that wasn’t bad enough, not only is she hounded by the media but she receives texts from what may be the Ophilia Killer; a person who murdered teenage boys some twenty years before.
A lot of buildup, some tense moments, and a twist I didn’t see coming at the end but I’m not sure if I really liked it. I thought it was an okay read, just not exciting enough for my tastes. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

First, thanks to NetGalley for an e-book ARC of this book for my enjoyment and review. This is a very-well written story of Anna, a radio commentator, who becomes involved in a murder done in self-protection of herself and her baby. The story moves at a very rapid pace, lots of little plots and characters, with super development. I am not usually a psychological thriller reader, but this book really got me – look forward to more from Tracy Buchanan.
