About this audiobook

I’m proud to be a geek

I’m smart, but I’m also awkward and somewhat socially inept—forever doomed to live in the shadow of my dead brother.

My job as a research engineer is amazing, though, and recently, I’ve managed to make some friends in my hometown of Forestville.

But when the wrong people show too much interest in my latest invention, my boss wants me protected. Despite my fierce protests, I end up back in Forestville. With a bodyguard who poses as my boyfriend.

Quillon is nothing like I had expected. He’s my opposite, but we connect in ways I never saw coming, and for the first time, I don’t feel alone. He takes care of me like no one ever has.

Oh, and he’s also extremely hot, which is fascinating because I’ve always thought I was straight. Apparently not.

But is this just a temporary thing or could it be forever?

Protecting the Nerd is the fourth book in the Forestville Silver Foxes series, a contemporary small-town MM romance series featuring hot silver foxes and the men who fall in love with them. Each book can be read as a standalone. Please check the trigger warnings in the front of the book.

What our readers think

Readers find this title quite enjoyable, especially the first half. The pacing may be a bit off with some slow moments and rushed action, but overall, it's worth a read. The will-they-wont-they aspect adds some intrigue. While it may not be the best from the author, it's far from the worst. Some parts may be slightly disturbing, but it still offers a low-angst, caring dynamic between characters.

It was pretty decent. But the pace was a bit off. It's slight slow burn, but its also a bit of a pendulum, very fast and very slow. I've listening to better books by this author. But this wasn't the worst. I'll reserve that Firm hand. Awful book that one. Rather disturbing in parts too.. Urgh!

The book was quite enjoyable, especially the first half of the book. The will-they wont-they aspect was a bit drawn out, and the action was a bit rushed, but the book was still quite enjoyable and might be worth a reread when I need a "one character takes care of the other character" go-to that is low angst.
