Too many characters and it spanned over two weeks but it felt like months. This would have been a great book if you didn’t need to take notes to keep all the characters straight. She tried to jam too much in this book. ( politics, KKK, interracial families, history, rape, bad marriages, bad Moms, and on and on) I was disappointed b cause I had high hopes for this one. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

One of the most delightful books I've read this year. The author tackles some very weighty subjects- racism, censorship and denial of history.
Loved the way much loved books are woven into the narrative.
The characters are upbeat and while some of them do terrible things, they are all treated with empathy and understanding.
This book should make book-club recommendations. There is much to think about and much to discuss. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

It started off great but got really preachy. There is enough of that in the news to render this book redundant. I was hoping that this would be a funny yet thought-provoking escape. It turned out not to be. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5
