About this audiobook
Stress and depression are among the two most common health concerns in today's fast-paced and modern world. As the decades go by, more and more people are finding themselves in workplaces that brew stress and in situations that foster depression.
Stress in itself is considered good by many medical professionals-stress keeps an individual alert, motivated, and ready to respond to any kind of threat. People who have faced tough deadlines in work or have actively competed in sports know the positive effects of stress, as it pushes the body to respond better and improve its performance.
However, too much stress is believed to be one of the causes of major depression in individuals that are susceptible or predisposed to the condition.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I found this book actually made me feel more depressed! It was written in such a detached and bland style; it was more like reading a clinical diagnostic book than a self help book. There was lots of referring to 'the patient'... In addition, the narrator read the book as a clinical diagnostic manual, which didn't help with the dryness of the text (she may have been brilliant at narrating other books though, perhaps this one was just particularly tricky!).
I stopped half way through as I really was feeling worse after an hour of being referred to as 'the patient' and listening to the uninspiring content..
For me, a book that claims to help you overcome stress/depression should also make you feel good while reading it, and most certainly should not make you feel worse!1 person found this helpful
