About this audiobook

Mowgli is the boy who was raised by wolves. As a very young child, little Mowgli had toddled into the jungle and away from the sight of his distraught mother. Tracked by the lame tiger, Sere Kahn as a tasty morsel to eat, he had been taken in by a wolf family in their lair and protected from the tiger. But the tiger, frustrated from having an easy meal, had vowed he would eat him one day and he plotted for years as the child grew to boyhood. This is the story of how, having been banished from the wolf pack at the age of 12 for being a human, he learns that Sere Kahn is now determined to find and kill him and of what he does about it with the help of his old father and mother wolf. An exciting tale.

Rudyard Kipling

Rudyard Kipling was born in India in 1865. After intermittently moving between India and England during his early life, he settled in the latter in 1889, published his novel The Light That Failed in 1891 and married Caroline (Carrie) Balestier the following year. They returned to her home in Brattleboro, Vermont, where Kipling wrote both The Jungle Book and its sequel, as well as Captains Courageous. He continued to write prolifically and was the first Englishman to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1907 but his later years were darkened by the death of his son John at the Battle of Loos in 1915. He died in 1936.
