About this audiobook

Cemetery Boys is an LGBTQIA+ ghost story about magic, acceptance and what it means to be your true self. From the instant New York Times-bestelling author Aiden Thomas.

Yadriel has summoned a ghost, and now he can’t get rid of him.

In an attempt to prove himself a true brujo and gain his family’s acceptance, Yadriel decides to summon his cousin’s ghost and help him cross to the afterlife.

But things get complicated when he accidentally summons the ghost of his high school’s resident bad boy, Julian Diaz – and Julian won't go into death quietly.

The two boys must work together if Yadriel is to move forward with his plan.

But the more time Yadriel and Julian spend together, the harder it is to let each other go . . .

'A celebration of culture and identity that will captivate readers with its richly detailed world, earnest romance, and thrilling supernatural mystery' – Isabel Sterling, author of These Witches Don't Burn

Fantastic! I've read the book in ebook format before but Avi really brings the characters to life in this audiobook, and I loved every second of it. Heads up that the last 15 minutes is an interview between the narrator and author, which was a lovely surprise, but it did make me feel like the ending came rather aprubtly because I was expecting 15 minutes more of the story.

Personally, I was amazed and enchanted by THE BOYS OF THE CEMETERY. One of the things I adored was seeing how the culture of the Day of the Dead is reflected. With such care it has been presented and shown to the world, it made me return to my Mexico, to my entire America and to see all the cultures and make them mine on a day that we hold so dear. If we add to that certain elements of indigenous legends and the mention of the famous Santa Muerte, I was enchanted because I was able to relive something so personal. On the other hand, everything is so well woven together, the characters so defined that it allows you to feel their emotions and make them completely yours. Aiden Thomas is a voice that has left me enchanted. It is light, addictive, and well-researched, so I want to read more from this literary discovery soon. Happy reading! (Translated from Spanish)

The Boys from the Cemetery is an LGBT novel that I enjoyed a lot; I loved the plot and the fact that it was set in my country, Mexico, which is something that is rarely presented in community novels. I only give it 3 stars because I found the plot to be very predictable, but everything else is very well done. (Translated from Spanish)

It's a wonderful fantasy story. It also addresses real-world themes. But for my taste, I give it 4 stars because I feel it lacked more romance between the protagonists. (Translated from Spanish)

In this book, I was reminded of the movies "Coco" and "What the Eyes Don't See" along with the series "Ghost Whisperer."

It touches on very current topics and portrays them in a masterful way.

I don't give it 5 stars because, in the middle of the book, the author seems to neglect one of the characters, who was important at the beginning, and then recovers him at the end... Still, it is a story that must be read.

This is my first book by this author, and I know it won't be the last; it has left me with a good taste in my mouth. (Translated from Spanish)

This is the first book I've read where the protagonist is trans, which again makes me realize that representation is important. I loved the story because it deals with the theme of witches who live in LA and what their job is working with spirits. It's cool that the author knows about the Day of the Dead and many traditions of the Latin community. The only thing I didn't like was that he uses Spanish in a forced way (I read the book in English), or doesn't use it when he should. For example, when his grandmother gets angry, she says one word in Spanish and everything else in English, when if my grandmother got angry, she would speak in her original language to convey the reprimand. So that cuts a bit into the fantasy, but aside from that, it's a story I liked; somewhat predictable but very enjoyable. (Translated from Spanish)
