About this audiobook
Instant USA TODAY Bestseller
The long-anticipated sequel to Sister Souljah’s million copy New York Times bestseller The Coldest Winter Ever.
Winter Santiaga hit time served. Still stunning, still pretty, still bold, still loves her father more than any man in the world, still got her hustle and high fashion flow. She’s eager to pay back her enemies, rebuild her father’s empire, reset his crown, and ultimately to snatch Midnight back into her life no matter which bitch had him while she was locked up. But Winter is not the only one with revenge on her mind. Simone, Winter’s young business partner and friend, is locked and loaded and Winter is her target. Will she blow Winter’s head off? Can Winter dodge the bullets? Or will at least one bullet blast Winter into another world? Either way Winter is fearless. Hell is the same as any hood and certainly the Brooklyn hood she grew up in. That’s what Winter thinks.
A heartwarming, heart-burning, passionate, sexual, comical, and completely original adventure is about to happen in real time—raw, shocking, soulful, and shameless. True fans won’t let Winter travel alone on this amazing journey.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I actually listened to this book in completion ever though I almost stopped about 20 times. I read The coldest winter ever when I was young and in school. I liked it then and (I assume) because I was young and young minded the story intrigued me. When I heard Sista Soulja was releasing a book about Midnight I was excited and went out and purchased CWE again to refresh my memory. Now that I am grown I could barely stomach Winter. She is so basic and vapid. As an adult who has lived life and experienced growth I realized that the constant description of the clothes cars and partying was silly and trite. This made me question the writing skills of Sista Soulja, but I digress. I had pre ordered Midnight so I felt that because the story in CWE was based on a teenage that the writing reflected the basicness (I know...not a word) of the characters. I felt that I should still give Midnight a chance. I started reading Midnight and again...more of the same. One dimensional characters who even though he was supposed to be deep and mysterious still fell flat on the pages...I didn’t finish it. So now years later part two of CWE comes out and again I have to give it chance. I decided that I would try the audio book just in case. That way someone else would be reading it and I couldn’t stop.... welp! I made it all the way through...ears bleeding and all. It was complete garbage. I don’t have one good word to say about it. I get that Sista is a devout Muslim but her writing makes me think she doesn’t even know anything about the faith other than what she read in a two page article in some magazine after an afterthought about religion. I can’t believe the publisher read this dribble and thought that it was good enough to publish. I can’t believe that Nia Long agreed to read it for the audiobook. I can’t believe I was dumb enough to make it to the end thinking that I would find one redeeming quality to make it have been worth the time and money I spent...

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Loved Nia Long's reading. Winter's personal growth was very shallow and came to late towards the end. She is not really likeable anymore.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I'm glad I formed my own opinion, this book was great. At times it was hard to follow, I will admit, but I think it's because Sister Soulja's mind is so extraordinary. But I got the good vs evil battle. I thought the detail of everything was phenomenal. I was thoroughly impressed. I wish others would give this book a chance. Its actually amazing. It could also give a young person who struggles with their faith an idea of what the after life could possibly be like if we don't repent our sins.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I think people should really give this book a chance. The plot is not predictable, and I think this is why the reviews are all over the place, but I enjoyed.
This was my first audio book, and I have to say, Nia Long did an amazing job!1 person found this helpful
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This was a really hard listen. I’m no quitter so I stuck it out. I love Nia Long but the narrator job was not good. There were too many descriptions of things that were not needed. The storyline is whack. I want a redo. Both writer and narrator are WAAAAAY more talented than this.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This could have been so much more. It felt like the author was trying to push their religious beliefs instead of telling the story the way it could have been told. Do not recommend. I only finished to see if the end could redeem it and it did not.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I've always been a fan of Sista Soulja's writing. This book had the hood, grit and grime that you'd expect, but hold on to your hijab, head wrap or weave because she came with it on this one! Oh My Goodness!! This was a head banger! A definite MUST ? READ!!
You will see Winter Santiaga drug to the gates of hell and...that's all I'll say about that. Dive in and be ready.
Sista Soulja, I want a movie on this one and the whole serious.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Winter Santiaga’s story has always been a cautionary tale, although many saw Winter as an icon or idol. In Life After Death, Sistah Souljah extends that caution to a higher level. What are the eternal consequences for our actions? Can we live with the decisions that we make and the actions that we commit? Souljah reminds me of Toni Morrison or Zora Neale Hurston in that her stories are layered and have much to say within the story that is being told. Great read, if you are ready to think!

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5That was so crazy I can’t even explain!!! Why, I tried...even made it though the hole book but that shit was stupid and out of control. If things have changed in her life (author ) and if she choose to go in different direction she should have written a new book!!!! This was some bullshit but I still got it and understood it!!

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved IT some parts were hard to listen too...I definitely think it is easier listening to than to read...It took a min to see Nia as Winter but I think she took me there by chapter 3 ...I loved the messages some hidden some right in your face....clearly different from last book but in 20 years the author has evolved into another person as we readers should also....thanking the most high for the CHANGE for the MERCY ❤??❤

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Deep!! Very Deep indeed. Winters story is so relatable and I love the twists and turns and keeping me in edge anticipating the next chapter. I’ve read the Coldest Winter ever like 20 times and it never gets old. Wish there was an audio version of that one. This book awakens something inside of you that leaves you inspired to look at your life and make some real decisions
