      I found the history of the Tamal struggles in Sri Lanka eye opening and the very real racism within Australia frightening. Unfortunately I was unable to connect with the characters on an emotional level, but overall the novel was well worth reading.

      We need more stories like this. Nuanced and compassionate, telling truths that need to be heard.
