About this audiobook

A high-stakes murder mystery on the American frontier.

In 1875, two young Sioux are lynched in Lockwood, Wyoming, by a makeshift posse for a crime they may or may not have committed. Ethan Ramsey knows he must act quickly to prevent a bloody retaliation from their Sioux tribe. Can he gain the trust of both the Sioux and the townspeople of Lockwood to allow enough time to unravel the mystery of the crime and ensure justice is fairly served?

In Night of the Coyote, the worlds of the old and new collide, and the clock is ticking for Ethan to prevent a further descent into violence.

I had this in line to read, as soon as I finished a number of other books...but just to be curious...I started it and I was hooked! I used to read quite a bit of western genre, L'Amour, Johnstone, Coldsmith, Grey....but had gotten tired of formulaic writing in later authors. But this has what I like in a good read...an interesting storyline, good characters, and a quickly moving plot line. There is the attention to detail that L'Amour would have, but not the Hemingwayesque need to spend 3 pages on the details of the lay of the land. There is also a good study of character development that is akin to James Lee Burke...the good guys are good...and the bad guys are reprehensible.....and the characters, especially the female lead, Skye....is charming...and deadly. Well worth the read, a fun read to boot, now will have to see about the authors other title(s). I hate to jinx the feeling on this one, but it would make a great movie...or part of a larger narrative. Well done!!!
