About this audiobook
Heartfulness is an ideal, a spiritual way of living by and from the heart that is inclusive of all ideologies, beliefs, and religions. In this heart-centered book, a student in conversation with his teacher, Kamlesh D. Patel—affectionately known as Daajii, the fourth and current spiritual guide of the century-old Heartfulness tradition—present a unique method of meditation with the power to facilitate an immediate, tangible spiritual experience, irrespective of a person's faith.
Our modern, fast-paced world can be an overwhelming place. Every day, we're bombarded with messages telling us that in order to be happy, fulfilled, and worthy, we must be better, do more, and accumulate as much material wealth as possible. But what if there is another way? What if, rather than letting the busyness of life overtake our minds, we learn to be heartful instead?
Based on Daaji's own combination of approaches and practices for the modern seeker, Heartfulness is a contemporized version of the ancient Indian practice of Raja Yoga, a tradition that enables the practitioner to realize the higher Self within. While many books describe refined states of being, The Heartfulness Way goes further, providing a pragmatic course to experience those states for oneself, which, per the book's guiding principle, is "greater than knowledge."

I won my copy of this book free through a Goodreads giveaway.
I remain a skeptic, I guess. This book is readable, and offers a decent introduction to meditation, with a meditation routine almost identical to what we were taught in my middle-school PE classes, but with a bit of mumbo-jumbo tacked on to make it fit the aesthetics of this brand of modern yoga. The author also tried to divorce his teachings from the vocabulary of established religions, which I appreciated, but the result was still hampered by too much Christian-style religion, just styled differently. Still, for readers coming from a Christian background this might not be so bad. Over all, I liked this book well enough, but not enough to let my mom read it. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

What I loved about this book is that it gave me some things I may use for the rest of my life. So that definitely makes it a five star book for me. One is meditation focusing on the divine light in your heart rather than just the breath. Relaxing into that and realizing that the thoughts come around are really just wallpaper in the room. My focus can be on the divine light, other thoughts can be around but the don’t have to intrude or be fought off. The cleaning thing is interesting and I’m trying it. Other ideas about points a,b and c and that particular prayer don’t resonate with me. But wow. Walking away from a book with something I think I’ll use forever is a lot. So five stars.
