There are some really good nuggets of advice here but she also annoyed me.
Apart from the emphasis on God that rears regularly, which broke my reading, her treating of her husband as a child annoyed me, I'm sure she has her life, but not insisting that her husband person up and do for himself (remind him that his lunch is in the fridge for ex) and not realising that both parents helping with housework, particularly when both are working is a good role-model for kids.
And the shoes thing, nope, I wear slip-ons at home that I can go outdoors in (loves my birkenstocks) and I am prone to athletes foot, so keeping my feet aired is good, (me not going barefoot is because I have bad feet but I would and I did for years, and regularly swept floors, because grit underfoot is unpleasant.)
I did try signing up for the newsletter but I got annoyed at being told to shine my sink while I was in work. I do think that a lot of the ideas are good but she rubbed me up the wrong way, not my book. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5

I've been following the flylady system for a few years now on and off but had never bothered to read her book. You don't really need to read it if you already follow the system. It's more for those who don't have Internet access.
If you aren't familiar with FlyLady, it's a system to help you get your house and life in order. It's about Cleaning and Organization and De cluttering but it's also more than that. Flylady will get you out of CHAOS (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome.) Flylady has helped thousands of people restore order to their lives by following routines and taking things in small babysteps. She explains how our perfectionism works against us and how we think if we don't spend all day cleaning and remove lots of grime than we aren't really cleaning. She shows us how to do little things each day to get and then keep our homes and lives clean and functional.
I've read lots of organizational books (before I started this review blog, someday I'll get to reviewing them here) but this is by far the best so far. It's the only system that has worked for me.
If you have Internet access, go to flylady.net and sign up for her emails. Peruse the site and try what she says, even if it sounds nuts to you at first. However if you don't have Internet at home (maybe you are reading this at work or the library) then buy this book. Or if you have a friend or family member who doesn't have Internet access, buy this book for them. Or at least recommend it. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Fly Lady rules! Along the lines of 'After the Laundry, The Laundry' Cilley shows you how to unfreeze your paralysis from housekeeping to focus on what is important.
Funnily enough this book came to me during my 'Buddhist' phase and embodies the principal that true enlightenment is coming to terms with your human fallibility. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

While I'm too lazy to follow through with all the book's suggestions, the advice has helped me change a few routines. The results make a huge difference to me. Just being able to find my keys and shoes saves me probably 30 minutes daily. I can't fault the book for my house not being clean. I just have a really high tolerance for clutter. I also have ADD, and my job places such high demands on my organizing and juggling skills that I have little mental energy left for home. Still, the book has helped, which is more than I can say for the handful of others on the topic that I've read.
