Enjoyable story about a family dealing with difficult circumstances involving divorce, remarriage and racial prejudice in the 1910’s. I really appreciated reading an “own voices” story that didn’t try to make me feel bad about myself, but rather helped open my eyes to how the world looked upon native Americans and these situations at that time. Being from Michigan’s upper peninsula, I am familiar with the locations the author mentioned, so that was a bonus for me. It’s definitely a story for book lovers, and I came away with an extended list to add to my TBR.
