- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5R.C. Sproul clearly defined the distinctions and the issues Protestantism has with the Roman Catholic development of doctrine. His methods were concise and his lectures were easy to understand. With that being said however, R.C. Sproul is presenting a misleading understanding of Roman Catholic doctrine and development. He unfortunately does not present the Roman Catholic case with its proper background exegesis, therefore, he is unknowingly arguing against a hollow, misunderstood caricature of the church. The framework of his Roman Catholic history and ecclesiology is extensive, however, he does not posses the full disposition to present these understandings fairly. Due to a simple bias towards the Protestant position, R.C. is unable to faithfully represent what the Roman Catholic Church actually teaches. I would of appreciated the lecture from the standpoint of the church herself, not from the misinterpretations of R.C. Sproul.
