- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This thoughtful and inspiring collection of essays about the author growing up in Cuba was charming. It gave me a glimpse into a culture that, for too many years, had been cut off from America. For many of the students in my school, Spanish is their first language, so the sprinkling of Spanish words throughout, along with the glossary in the back, will be a welcoming reassurance that they are not alone.
