About this audiobook
After a rough summer, Rafe is heading back to the dreaded Hills Village Middle School, the site of the very worst years of his life.
And as if that's not bad enough, Rafe's learned that he's going to be held back a year unless he can prove himself on an outdoor survival excursion — complete with dangerous white-water rafting, dizzying rock climbing and military style counsellors. Rafe and the rest of the pack of 'delinquent' trainees are forced to cooperate as they prepare for the final test: a solo excursion in the deep woods.
Can Rafe come out of the experience in one piece? And if he does, will anyone recognise him as the kid they once knew?
A Random House UK audio production.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was a funny story that engages the reader because of the graphic novel format. The pictures enhance the story by allowing us to see Rafe's thoughts. This story is very entertaining and funny that would easily engage a middle or high school student. This would be a great book for any high school library because of its entertainment value.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Rafe Khatchdorian is told some really bad news, Airbrook Arts a art school he was going to was shut down. this meant he had to go back to Hills Village Middle School. Rafe has a really bad reputation at this school. for one when her first got to the school he decided he would break every single rule. As you can imagine that's a terrible idea. Also he is bullied by a kid he likes to call "Miller the Killer". Another reason this is bad is the Vic-Principal, Mrs. Striker, is his sworn enemy. Then Rafe ends up going to "The Program" a place he was sent to because of his bad grades and rule breaking reputation. once he finishes going here the Hills Village Middle-school can accept him into their school. At the camp Rafe is put in a group called the cockroaches, With Arnie, Burp, Veronica, Thea, Carmen D.J., and Diego. at camp you have to get Tags for each activities. by 3 days you need Ten tags by the end of the week your there you need Twenty tags. By the end of the book Rafe survives all the obstacles of The Program, and finally makes it into Hills Village Middle-School.I liked this book because it gave you good imagery in your mind of whats happening, it if filled with funny jokes and pictures, and its a enjoyable read. The way the author wrote this book gives grate attention to details. Even if it does have pictures. Rafe makes jokes about himself and even others like "Miller the Killer" for example. All and all this was a enjoyable read and i would read it again anytime of the week.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Rafe gets scared straight!Ok. Not really. But that's the idea behind this installment in the series. As you would expect of a troublemaker sent to bootcamp, there's much headbutting, but at least Rafe isn't alone in his troublemaking. Rafe learns to take a bit more responsibility for himself in this, but there isn't enough character growth as you would expect from such an experience. Perhaps the next book will highlight his growth better.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I read this with my son, Max. We always enjoy the Middle School books. Max loves books set in a school environment.
Rafe Khatchadorian is back. The Arts school he was attending is closing and guess what... he will have to go back to Hills Village Middle School. Yep, the place where these stories started and the place Rafe was happy to be expelled from. But, Mrs. Ida P. Stricker is now the principal and the new vice-principal is her sister Charlotte P. Stonecase. Needless to say, neither of them are happy with the idea of Rafe returning to their school. So, they have a condition... Rafe must attend and successfully complete a week in The Program.
When Rafe looks at the brochure, he realizes this is no fun week at camp. In fact, the brochure says in boldface letters, "The hardest week of your life is about to begin."
My opinion:
I enjoyed this book. I always like reading with my son. :)

This book is great for kids in grades 3 - 8; I think any kids who enjoy realistic fiction or humorous stories will enjoy it. Patterson's writing is easy to read and there are plenty of pictures throughout the book which are very funny.
