About this audiobook
The laughter of summer lawn parties fades for the men and women of Summerset Abbey, as the rumble of cannon-fire sweeps across Europe. In a changing world, they soon find that only one thing is certain: none of them will ever be the same.
Rowena Buxton
The female pilot’s upcoming wedding to Sebastian Billingsly is the talk of society. Rowena loves her kind, handsome fiancé, but memories of a dangerously passionate affair with a dashing flier still stir her heart…. Accepting a daring mission transporting British planes, she encounters the man whose touch sent her reeling—and whose return into her life may have disastrous consequences for her and Sebastian’s future.
Victoria Buxton
The defiant suffragette raises eyebrows once again by living on her own in London as a lady bachelor. Kit Kittredge is the one man who understands and adores Victoria’s fiery spirit—but she rebuffs her best friend’s offer of marriage time and again, choosing to join the war effort as a volunteer nurse. And on the battlefields of France, she will learn the true meaning of love and sacrifice.
Prudence Tate
After a stinging betrayal at Summerset Abbey, Prudence has found love and contentment in working-class Camden Town as Mrs. Andrew Wilkes. But when Andrew enlists, everything that Pru cherishes is at risk—and she crosses a line attempting to protect him. Has she irreparably damaged their loving bond of trust?

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I adored this book trilogy! I so wanted it to carry on so that I could follow the next chapter of the sister's lives. And Sarah Coombs as narrator was fantastic, she was able to do an array of accents that were spot on. Just loved this trilogy.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love this book. WELL written and read. I felt like I was right there. Keep up the good work. Have you ever thought about writing about the Lindberg flight and their lives? Might be another great story.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Read to have something to tide me over while awaiting the new season of Downton Abbey. I liked this & will likely continue with the series.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Summerset Abbey is the story of Prudence Tate, the daughter of a British governess during the early 1900's. Her mother worked with Rowena and Victoria Buxton and Prudence grew up alongside of the sisters, enjoying the same privileges. Things take a sudden turn when the sisters' father dies and they are sent to live with their uncle at his country estate. Prudence is allowed to come along with the understanding that she will live in the servants' quarters and become the sisters' maid. This book provides an interesting glimpse into British aristocracy and the people who served them. I would recommend this book to fans of historical fiction, the TV series Downton Abbey and the author Kate Morten. (Review based on an ARC copy from NetGalley.)
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The book opens at a funeral. Sir Phillip Buxton has died prematurely. The story follows the life of his daughers, Rowena and Victoria and their intimate Prudence. We see aristocratic life from the early 1900s as well as the life of the servants. Summerset Abbey is a book that I think would appeal more to women than men. However, it wasn't a bad story. It was well-written and the story flowed. The big picture became obvious early, but there were a lot of twists to the details. The book was a pleasant read.
