About this audiobook
When Annette gets Lucien into trouble at school, he decides to get back at her by threatening the most precious thing in the world to her: her little brother, Dani. But tragedy strikes. Annette knows she can never forgive Lucien for what he did to Dani, and she is going to make sure that no one else does either. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I love this Christian book that I read as a child and re-read recently. Annette decides that she will never forgive Lucien for hurting her brother Dani. And so she begins a revenge campaign involving many other people in their small community. But her hatred consumes her and she ends up hating herself for what she has become. This is an account of the power of forgiveness even when it seems impossible.
Recommended for children and teenagers. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Probably my pick for 2021 PopSugar Reading Challenge prompt: set in a place you want to visit in 2021 (Switzerland)
I'm looking for books set in Croatia, though..
"My Annette" was one of the animé series by World Masterpiece Theater, where Hayao Miyazaki used to work before Studio Ghibli..
I can still remember the first few parts of the story, and when I read this book I felt like crying. This is a story about anger management, revenge and forgiveness. It's suitable for Christian schools due to its religious theme at the last half of the book. The emotions of the main characters moved me to tears, just like how I remember while watching the animé adaptation.
Will definitely recommend to my teachers. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was one of my favourite books as a child. In fact, for many years, it *was* my favourite book! It is a delightful, moving tale, set in the beautiful Swiss alps. Recommended for any child who loves to read!
