Record breakers Vespa World Days Pontedera, Italy, April 18-21, 2024

There are as many ways of enjoying a Vespa World Days (VWD) event as there are participants, and for Pontedera that means anything from the 8000 registered participants up to an estimated 20,000 who arrived for the weekend. This was my fourth VWD, with Croatia 2015 being the event to which I compare any other rally. That said, they’ve all been completely different from one another and are certainly a world away from the UK National rally scene we’re used to.

Overall these are more relaxed affairs, although the Italians, and to some degree the French, take their club structures very seriously. Theirs is a world of matching club jackets
