The larynx (voice box) is part of the throat used during breathing and speaking. There are more than 2,000 new laryngeal cancer cases annually in the UK, mostly affecting people over 60 and more men than women.
Symptoms include hoarseness, pain or difficulty when swallowing, a lump or swelling in your neck, a prolonged cough, breathlessness, persistent sore throat, earache or high-pitched wheezing as you breathe. Some people experience bad breath, unintentional weight loss or fatigue.
