SCIENTISTS SEEK LIFE ACROSS THE MULTIVERSE

If the formula for a habitable universe were like a recipe for a meal, it would be the kind where the slightest deviation from the instructions will deliver a complete food failure. Humans only exist because the laws of nature in our universe are fine-tuned in a very specific way.

If, say, the balance between the electromagnetic force and the strong nuclear force were just slightly different, atoms would not be able to form, and the universe would be dark and dead. In other words, our universe seems to have been tuned for the very purpose of making our existence possible. Is this the sign of divine intent? Or perhaps we have just been incredibly lucky? Or should we say that since we’re here to ask the question, the chance of life is clearly 100%?
