Tech rollouts are hitting differently in 2024. OnePlus, like many other manufacturers, now debuts certain lower-end hardware in developing markets long before sending it elsewhere in the world. For instance, the OnePlus Pad Go, though new to us, has actually been in Indian hands since the end of last year. That would be fine, except this appears to be a remarkable technological achievement and we’re highly jealous that we’ve had to wait.

Okay, sure, the processor is nothing to shout about, with a rather relaxed Helio G99 taking the place of the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 in the full-bore OnePlus Pad. The screen resolution is a little lower, too. But there’s nothing here that’s actually bad – and, in fact, you’re getting a heck of a lot of tablet at a budget price.

It has the RAM, the expandable storage space, the audio capabilities. It has an enormous battery. And it’s very hard to argue that the OnePlus Pad Go doesn’t have the looks, too, coming in a fetching two-tone greenish colour OnePlus calls
