New GTA 6 screenshots could be coming soon – here’s everything we know

Rockstar has released just one Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer since announcing the game back in December, leaving the game’s fans desperate for the slightest crumb of new information they can find.

Eagle-eyed sleuths spotted an update to the publisher’s website this week, which hints that a fresh round of screenshots – and a potential new release date – are imminent.

A placeholder entry for GTA 6 was added to Rockstar’s main site, then quickly removed, suggesting the update slipped out too soon. Before being yanked offline by a panicking admin, the product listing included empty placeholders for four screenshots, cover art and release date.

Potential new screenshots aside, we’ve still a while to go before latest crime sim launches in 2025. While long-held has been in development since 2014, Rockstar Games only  its existence for the first time in early 2022, when it stated on its website that the game was in “active development”. After almost two years, we finally got a first-look trailer on 4 December 2023, coinciding with Rockstar Games’s 25th anniversary.
