GOLDMINE: How did you come to produce Ace’s 1978 solo album?

From my days of working on Kiss’ first demo in the spring of 1973, Ace and I formed a bond. I don’t know why, but some personalities click, and we clicked. In the ’70s, I produced the Kiss albums, and . After that, we get up to the point where guys want to do their own solo albums now. Gene does his, Paul does his, Peter does his and I get Ace. That’s great. Ok, so what are we going to do? We’re thinking about songs and how to make a sound. Ace loves songs and he likes commerciality and so do I. He has a real good rock and roll sense.
