An evening of discovery

this month for the first time ever. The Wine Spectator’s Grand Tour is a supertasting heralded as “the greatest show in terroir” and “the premier wine event in the world.” On May 11, the tour is popping bottles at the Sheraton Denver Downtown, where top wineries such as Argiano,’s 2023 Wine of the Year, will be helping attendees evolve their love of fermented grapes from a hobby to a passion to a lifestyle. Beyond a chance to taste some of the best bottles on the planet, it’s also an opportunity to meet many of the people behind those vintages and learn their stories. When the doors open, make a beeline to the Champagne section, where you’ll find famous names such as Charles Heidsieck, Louis Roederer, and Rare. Continue your exploration of French wines with a taste of Château d’Esclans Garrus, an iconic luxury rosé made from a single vineyard of nearly 100 year-old vines, then sink into lush reds with Australian producer Yalumba’s The Caley 2018, a blend of Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon and Barossa Shiraz that retails for $370 a bottle. Then it’s time for Stag’s Leap, Far Niente, and so many more fine selections, all of which are rated 90 or above by Tickets start at $275.
