Well, I'm just about over all the weights issues. It's just too hard to do the right thing!

I had a 2019 Holden Colorado towing my Jayco caravan. The Colorado had a gross vehicle mass (GVM) of 3150kg and a gross combination mass (GCM) of 6000kg. The caravan had 2553kg tare, 3028kg aggregate trailer mass (ATM) and 2865kg gross trailer mass (GTM). This meant I was always only just under the maximum GCM.

So, in my wisdom and to keep safe and legal, I would buy a truck.
