Shetland’s inter-island links

The various islands around the Shetland archipelago are linked by an 11-strong fleet of small ferries operated by the Shetland Islands Council. The services are headed by the 1,861gt double-enders Dagalien and Daggri, built at the Stocznia Polnocna yard in Gdansk, Poland.

They were delivered in 2004 to replace a pair of earlier vessels on the route from Toft on Mainland to Ulsta at the southern end of the island of Yell. They
